Coming to Fukuoka, visitors will hear a lot about Nakasu, the red light district is always busy and bustling. Hakata is the name of an old trading port in Fukuoka. Hakata ramen today are sold in many places in Japan, but the best and most delicious is still in Fukuoka. Thanks to the large number of restaurants, Nakasu Red Light Street is also known as the ideal place to enjoy this noodle dish.
Nakasu started bustling around 10 p.m. Most of the restaurants here serve Hakata ramen but the place chosen by many Japanese is the “hut” noodle shop.
Called a shop but in reality, they are just convenient trolleys. The owner of the goods put up a cover sheet to block the wind. In the night, the cars are like small huts, highlighted with yellow lights.
Each restaurant holds about 15-20 diners. Guests sit on high stools around the main kitchen, placed in the center by the owner.

There are many ways to prepare the broth of this noodle dish, depending on the store, but the most popular is still the pork bone stew version. The bones are carefully stewed until the broth is opaque white, has a rich, sweet taste on the tip of the tongue. Hakata ramen noodles are thinner than usual, achieving a silky softness after flaking.
A popular bowl of Hakata ramen is topped with scallions and a few slices of boiled or grilled pork. Prices vary depending on the restaurant, but you can order a bowl for 500-700 yen (about 100,000 – 150,000 VND).
When enjoying, customers can sprinkle a little sesame seeds to increase the aroma. Chili peppers and pickled radish are also available for guests.

As a large red light district, Nakasu has hundreds of “shops” where only Japanese-speaking men are allowed to enter. The shops have full service, if you want to chat with girls for 60 minutes, customers pay from 1,000 yen (about 200,000 VND). Rates will increase over time and customer needs. If overnight, guests have to pay the price of about 15,000 – 30,000 yen (about 3 – 6 million VND), depending on the stature and service skills of the girls.
