Let’s cook in quarantine period : Healthy & fresh Japanese “Tororo-Gohan”

In the summer, conditions are hot and humid. Many people suffer from summer fatigue. Dehydration and anorexia are the fried causes of summer fatigue. We expend energy by sweating to maintain our body temperature. As you sweat, minerals also flow, so it’s important to replenish them properly. Therefore, yam contain a lot of vitamins and minerals that are easily lost due to dehydration, and they are also good for improving digestion and absorption, so they are the perfect dish to prevent summer fatigue.

Ingredient:

Steamed rice
01 cup of pressed barley
300g of yam
80 ml of dashi
1/2 tablespoon of sake
01 teaspoon dark soy sauce
1/2 cup of water

Sidedish & topping:

Pickles
Chopped seaweed
A dash of wasabi

●  How to make it!

Step1: Sharpen the rice, add pressed barley, and cook the rice.

Step 2: Bring the seasonings to a simmer in a pan and let cool.

Step 3: Scrape yam with a mortar until soft, then add the soup stock of 2 a little at a time.

Step 4: Mix together the broth and yam until fluffy.

Step 5: Put the barley rice in the rice bowl and pour the grated yam of 3 over it.

Step 6: Serve with condiments or a little side dish if you like.
